OUR Vision isThe relief of persons suffering injury or illness.
The North West Pre-hospital Critical Care Charity (Formerly the Cheshire & Shropshire Immediate Care Group), are a group of volunteers who have one common goal and that is to help those in need.
Our volunteer responders are called by the ambulance service to attend serious accidents or incidents in which our extended skills or expertise are needed. Our responders include time-served Doctors with a range of backgrounds including Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesia and Surgery or Paramedics working as Critical Care Paramedics or Advanced Paramedics.
We respond to incidents at the request of the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
THE RELIEF OF PERSONS SUFFERING INJURY OR ILLNESS BY THE PROVISION OF IMMEDIATE CARE IN THE GEOGRAPHICAL REGION OF CHESHIRE, MERSEYSIDE, MANCHESTER, LANCASHIRE AND ADJACENT AREAS AND TO ADVANCE THE STUDY OF IMMEDIATE MEDICAL CARE BY THE PROVISION OF TRAINING.
Our 2023 incidents
We receive no statutory funding and rely solely upon your donations.
As a charity, we have been operating since 1973.
Our volunteer Doctors and Paramedics make themselves available to be called by the ambulance service. This could be from their own home in their private unmarked vehicles or forming part of a crew in the team rapid response vehicle.
We have the ability to deliver stronger pain relief, prehospital surgical interventions or provide prehospital anaesthesia.
We have seen steadily increasing calls for our skills both in our own patch and further afield.
We receive no funding from any statutory service. To remain operational, we need to fundraise or apply for grants to continue our lifesaving work.
